theogeoA cell phone ringtone was key to finding an accused cop killer in St. Louis, Missouri. During a trial for the suspect, who was charged with gunning down University City Police Sgt. Mike King on Halloween night in 2008, his cell-phone was revealed as evidence. A few hours after King was killed, officers searched the crime scene for the cell phone.
The suspects' fiancee had told them earlier that the phone had a very distinctive ringtone and a photo of her as the screen saver. The officers found the phone near an abandoned building not far from where King was shot. Authorities recognized the ringtone – The Black Sheep's "You Can Get With This", and the photo, which was enough evidence to arrest the suspect a few days later near Kansas City.
